Social Media Made Easy

How many times a day do you check social media? Right when you wake up in the morning? On your lunch break? Before you go to bed? It’s been reported that the average user spends 2 hours and 24 minutes on social media a day.  So how can we use social media to leverage our brand and promote awareness?

The idea of social media marketing can be intimidating to those that didn’t grow up perfecting their own social media profiles with selfies, dog pictures, and photos of their restaurant plates. However, there are so many programs that make the thought of business social media a little less scary.

The first step to social media marketing is creating eye-catching content. If your skills do not extend to the Adobe creative suite or other professional graphic design programs, there are some more user friendly options. My personal favorite is Canva (canva.com).  There are thousands of templates that can be edited with your company colors, fonts, and logos to create a consistent and branded look - and if you’re feeling up to it, you can create your own from scratch. Once you pick out the look that you want your brand to have, you can save a brand kit and save all of your preferred settings. Outside of social media posts, these images can be used for website visuals or advertisements.

After getting adjusted to content creation, it is important to post regularly for the most impactful results. Each social media platform has a different algorithm but posting daily or on a dependable schedule will help get your message in front of your target audience. There are many applications that help make this process easier. The two that I am familiar with are Hootsuite and Sprinklr.  Both of these programs allow you to schedule posts in advance on multiple platforms and can cut your required time in half!

With the right tools, social media can elevate your brand to the next level by reaching a new market and engaging your current market.
